Claudio Taniguchi, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with the City of Hawthorne presided over the CERT training and gave out to the graduating class City of Hawthorne CERT ID's and their cetificates. The students were from the South Bay and the Greater Los Angeles County. Students learned the basics of Disaster Preparedensss, basic safety skills including fire suppression, basic medical operations, triage, search and rescue, the incident command structure, terrorism. ON the last day of class, we had a full scale exercise implementing on all that was learned in the CERT course. The fire dept assisted in the class exercise. One of the stations from L.A.
